Leadership of the Students Representative Council of the Ghana Telecom University has commissioned a new Astroturf, lovers’ bench and radio station on their campus. According to President of the Students Representative Council Prince Owiredu Asare, the initiative is to enhance the lives of students both holistically and academically. Prince Owiredu Asare underscored the preparedness and readiness of his contemporaries to take up employment opportunities after completion of tertiary education. Dean of Student Affairs of the university Dr. Michael Nana Owusu-Akomeah, assured that the institution is determined to work assiduously in enabling students to excel creditably in their chosen fields of endeavor. Periodic police operations to clamp down criminal activities and prevent crimes usually committed by motor-cyclists have led to the seizure of 394 motorbikes by the Accra Regional Police command across the region in a five day operation. The five-day operation which started on 22nd July and still underway is part of police efforts to sustain the current security situation in the country’s capital, Accra. This according to the police, was to sanitize the system by reclaiming stolen motorbikes and compelling recalcitrant riders to regularize and update their documentation in line with Road traffic regulations. Following directives of the Regional Commander, DCOP/ Afful Boakye Yiadom, to continue the motorbike exercise all divisional commanders began the operation in their various divisions to impound these motorbikes

The central Motor Transport and Traffic Department (MTTD), of the Ghana Police Service has embarked on a Speed Enforcement exercise to check over speeding at accident prone areas and has arrested twenty-six offenders in here in the country’s capital, Accra.
