The Fodome Traditional Council led by Togbega Gbedeblema Akpatsa II, has donated office furniture and electronic appliances to the Fodome Police Station in the Hohoe Municipality. The donation includes four sets of office furniture, one double-deck fridge, one tabletop fridge, a 32" LED television, two wall clocks, and five ceiling fans. Twenty-year-old Eyram Botwe who sprayed pepper powder into the eyes of a motor rider in an attempt to rob him of his Haojue motorbike at Agorve, has been sentenced to fifteen years imprisonment with hard labour. The accused who was put before the Sogakope Circuit court on January 25, 2022 on the charge of attempt to commit robbery, pleaded guilty to the offence and was convicted on his own plea. The Nkwanta branch of the Ghana Commercial Bank escaped destruction after properties, including money, food staffs among other things got burnt in a house next to the financial institution. According to eyes’ account, it took the intervention of the community members to stop the fire from spreading to other buildings. Elikpelim Danyo is a victim and a wife to the owner of the burnt building. She said all her belongings got burnt including her business proceeds of about 5,000 Ghana cedis. Member of Parliament for Anyaa Sowutuom Dickson Adomako Kissi has urged his colleagues from the NDC to support and endorse policies rolled out by government. Speaking to George Yawson Vineh the legislature says such measures are to be fully implemented this year will ease the burden of the citizenry. The medical doctor also expressed worry over attitude of legislators from the NDC who habitually opposed policies initiated to reverse the country’s dwindling fortunes. A sixteen room compound house at Kublemahaku in Tamale has been gutted by fire in the early hours of Tuesday morning. The fire destroyed properties worth thousands of Ghana cedi’s. According to occupants of the house, Mma Ayishatu the fire started in the early hours of Tuesday morning destroying everything in its way. Head of International Relations of the Socialist Movement of Ghana (SMG), Justice Akuffo-Henaku has quizzed the performance of the current government saying the New Patriotic Party has turned the country into a banana republic. A sixty-five-year-old man, Wisdom Badasu is currently in the custody of the Ho District Police command assisting in investigations into offence of illegal possession of firearm, cruelty to animal and causing harm. Police say he will appear before court as soon as the investigation is done. On Wednesday, January 19, 2022, some Fulani herdsmen went grazing with their cattle at Agbakorpe near Ho. While grazing, they heard a gunshot and later detected that one of their cattle had been shot dead. An initial search for the assailant by the herdsmen in the bushes proved futile. The Commanding Officer for the Ho Regional Police Training School, Chief Superintendent William Yankee Acolatse has charged new recruits to be disciplined and uphold the regulations of the school. He made this comment at the school’s inaugural ceremony, held to usher in the new recruits into the school.
